FAQs

What are your service times?

We celebrate Lutheran Mass every Sunday at 9 a.m. We also regularly hold Bible Studies on Sundays after church and on Wednesday evenings.

What type of a service can I expect?

We offer a historic, reverent Divine Service that features traditional Lutheran liturgy.  Learn more about our beliefs and practices.

Do you provide adult Christian education classes?

Yes. We provide a course in Luther’s Small Catechism.

Do you offer confession and absolution?

Yes, by appointment.

What synod do you belong to?

Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Akron is a member of the Missouri Synod (LCMS).

Can non-members participate in communion?

We request that those who commune with us be a member of a LCMS congregation, and united with our beliefs. Before communing with us for the first time, please indicate your intentions to our Pastor before the service.

How often do you serve communion?

We participate in the Lord’s Supper on every Sunday, along with some mid-week services. We do so because it’s an inherent part of who we are as a church.

Where are you located?

We’re at 724 Sumner Street, Akron, 44311. (Get directions.)  As noted on our History page, we recently sold our property on North Portage Path in Akron.  We are presently holding our services at Concordia Lutheran Church.
